On the way to Washington
Two days ago my home state of Massachusetts held a special Senate election to fill the seat left vacant by Ted Kennedy. Regardless of my thoughts on the outcome or what it means for the nation, it’s always great to see democracy in action. It was a hard fought campaign (at least on one side) and now Scott Brown heads to Washington to represent the people of Massachusetts.
I’ve been planning an end of summer journey to DC. This is a trip all Americans should take. From the Capital Building to the Lincoln Memorial you’ll get a crash course in US history. Washington has incredibly fun places to visit like the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum and somber yet inspiring spots like Arlington National Cemetery. I can’t wait to get down there again.
Travel Tip: do not miss the amazing view of Washington from the grounds of Arlington House.
