In the News: Collette Vacations vs. the Volcano

Our local NBC affiliate ran a story last night about how we have been handling the European air traffic delays and cancellations. Am I right in saying that Dan Sullivan, our CEO, is a natural in front of the camera?

It’s true, some things you can’t plan for. But when life throws you a curveball (like an erupting volcano in Iceland) it’s important to know that someone is looking out for you.

Here’s a little inside scoop – a quote from a company wide email that Dan sent out as we were dealing with the situation.

“This has been very challenging and everyone has risen to the challenge to make sure the customer is safe and you have done that with a smile and in uncertain circumstances that change by the hour.”

Notice the focus here is all on the customer. Right now we are happy to say that most of those customers who had to cancel travel plans are rebooking tours for a later date.
